About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies in Germany for pipeline, launch and marketed products based on clear, transparent criteria.
  • Prepare pricing-related materials for price negotiations within AMNOG processes and actively participate in these negotiations.
  • Monitor the market and legal framework, analyze other pricing outcomes and arbitration board decisions, and translate findings into strategic recommendations for Boehringer Ingelheim products.
  • Coordinate long-term planning processes, independently develop pricing scenarios with sound rationales and derive clear recommendations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of all pricing-relevant aspects such as rebates and combination discounts to ensure optimal strategies and successful product outcomes.
  • Independently develop, implement and take responsibility for complex pricing strategies for pipeline, launch and marketed products in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Cover and be responsible for the full range of pricing topics; act as a sparring partner for negotiators in developing negotiation strategies to achieve the best possible price.
  • Responsible for price assumptions and corresponding rationales across the Boehringer Ingelheim product portfolio, in collaboration with Pricing & Reimbursement Managers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Pharmacy, Health Economics, Medicine, a Natural Science, Economics or Public Health — PhD preferred.
  • Experience and deep understanding of the healthcare sector and health policy framework, with a focus on patented pharmaceuticals, the AMNOG process and pharmaceutical pricing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with strategic perspective to develop new approaches.
  • Solid health policy knowledge as well as fundamental medical and pharmaceutical understanding.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing health policy environments.
  • Long-term experience and in-depth understanding of the healthcare sector and health policy framework, particularly regarding patented medicines, the AMNOG process and pricing.
  • Strategic foresight and ability to think beyond borders, including awareness of international pricing trends for patented therapies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, advanced influencing capabilities and the ability to align pricing and access objectives with overall brand strategy.
