About the role

  • Serve as the owner and accountable lead for assigned accounts, driving the development and execution of Key Account plans.
  • Provide effective lateral leadership to all colleagues involved.
  • Partner with priority accounts to co-develop high‑impact initiatives that streamline care pathways, improve patient outcomes, and generate robust real‑world evidence.
  • Ensure timely formulary inclusion and maximize uptake of Boehringer Ingelheim medicines by analyzing and synthesizing insights from multiple sources to understand each account’s potential, pressures, and holistic needs.
  • Build trust-based relationships with key accounts through ongoing collaboration focused on improving patient outcomes and delivering joint value for the customer and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in pharmaceutical sales, market access, or key account management.
  • Strong knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system, hospital procurement, and reimbursement processes, together with an established network of contacts in the Mid & West region.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and concise account plans.
  • Proven track record of leading diverse teams through lateral influence and a strong cross‑functional mindset; highly skilled at coordinating across internal teams and Business Units to deliver a seamless, unified customer experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing multi‑stakeholder projects within the healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in French, German and English is required; Italian is considered a plus.
