About the role
- Conduct research, data gathering, calculations, quantitative analytics, and forecasting related to the execution of regulatory testing (CCAR, ICAAP, etc.) and risk planning for the firm's capital adequacy.
- Contribute to determining the impacts of regulatory forecasts on income statements, balance sheets, and capital actions to confirm quarterly minimums are met.
- Interface with internal stakeholders and continue to build knowledge of advanced capital adequacy activities and concepts.
- Provide broad support to senior analysts and begin to specialize in areas such as model development, testing, calculations, review and challenge processes, policy and procedures to guide firm compliance, or reporting and submission of the Bank's responses.
- With limited direction, populate and run models and stress tests for assigned regulatory reporting requirements related to capital adequacy (e.g., CCAR, ICAAP).
- Document inputs, assumptions, and results; identify exceptions to anticipated results and collaborate on resolutions with more experienced peers and managers.
- Research, gather data, and perform quarterly capital adequacy calculations for submission to regulators or inputs into models, forecasts, and stress tests.
- Ensure calculations comply with regulatory rules and internal Bank standards.
- Collaborate with peers to review and challenge work steps and outcomes to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Build and maintain relationships with peers in the businesses, Risk Management, Finance, and Corporate Treasury to ensure efficient collection of data and model inputs.
- Provide technical guidance to more junior team members as needed.
- Contribute to team objectives and share responsibility for portions of assigned regulatory submissions related to capital adequacy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Degree in mathematics, engineering, statistics, computational finance, or economics preferred.
- MBA or CFA preferred.
- Experience in risk management, financial analysis, business analysis, or prior capital adequacy experience preferred.
