About the role

  • Act as the BNY SA/NV Frankfurt Branch Risk Officer in the Second Line of Defense (2nd LOD)
  • Implement complex projects to manage and maintain enterprise-wide risk management frameworks
  • Aggregate and analyze risk data and recommend improvements
  • Evaluate existing processes, address control gaps, assess and monitor risks with broad organizational impact
  • Triaging risks and assist in developing processes and controls to manage risks
  • Monitor adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment and remediate deficiencies
  • Coordinate 2nd LOD risk monitoring and escalation of breaches against Risk Appetite thresholds, policies or regulation impacting the branch
  • Support cross-functional efforts to promote a strong risk culture
  • Contribute to cross-risk reporting for management and escalate material issues to governance committees
  • Build relationships with organizational managers to ensure timely issue resolution and implementation of improvements
  • Monitor operational risk events impacting the branch
  • Provide support to BNY SA/NV Operational and Technology risk team and to the BNY Frankfurt Branch Risk officer as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor ‘s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 7-10 years of total work experience preferred
  • Business Analytics or Risk, Financial or Regulatory Reporting background preferred
  • German and English are mandatory
