About the role
- Serve as UX / Design subject matter expert for the Archer team within BNY
- Fine-tune and apply professional UX concepts to resolve complex product design issues
- Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate activities of others
- Provide comprehensive consultation to management and staff related to user research and usability testing
- Review documentation of research findings presented to product and development teams
- Define and review new and modified user personas
- Participate in and provide guidance for creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications
- Lead implementation of visual styles that support platform branding to increase user effectiveness
- Consult on and interpret user feedback and insights to improve the user experience
- Serve as reviewer of usability activities and artifacts to ensure applications meet customer expectations
- Provide UX expertise to product definition and evaluation using multiple information sources
- Act as principal consult and lead creation and updating of UI and visual design guidelines and standards
- Advocate for user-centered design and standardized design systems; facilitate training for non-UX groups
- Ensure developed/revised products achieve user goals by establishing user-centered analysis, design best practices, and standards
- Lead a range of complex projects with internal and cross-functional outcomes
- Build strong relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners and create formal networks with key decision makers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
- Advanced degree preferred
- 12 + years of experience required
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
- Expertise in UX / Design with experience across user research, usability testing, interaction design, and visual design; expert in at least one area
- Experience conducting user research methods: usability testing, surveys, interviews, work studies, and heuristic evaluations
- Experience defining and reviewing user personas
- Experience creating concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications
- Experience implementing visual styles that support platform branding
- Experience interpreting user feedback and insights to improve the user experience
- Experience reviewing usability activities and artifacts to ensure software applications meet customer expectations for use
- Experience creating and updating user interface and visual design guidelines and standards
- Experience advocating for user-centered design and providing training for groups outside the UX team
- Leadership experience: determines methods and procedures, coordinates activities, and leads complex cross-functional projects
