About the role
- Contribute to the Tax Services product strategy, developing and promoting new products especially U.S. and Corporate Trust related, by providing subject matter expertise and guidance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate changes which may lead to product gaps and operational issues.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on new tax developments, legislation and guidance from tax authorities that may impact our product set.
- Take ownership of creating business cases, identifying customer needs while ensuring that the Bank’s (tax) risk appetite and control framework are satisfied.
- Manage vendors and assist in setting the billing and pricing strategy.
- Work closely with Product Development partners to ensure business requirements are understood, delivery plans developed and tracked through all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Lead ad-hoc time sensitive projects focused on delivery of solutions for Clients and BNY requirements.
- Provide thought leadership, including the drafting of client communication to provide clients with updates on tax changes to both the tax law and the U.S. tax process.
- Provide timely updates to business partners, including Risk and Compliance partners.
- Work in a multi-disciplined team located across various time-zones.
- Represent BNY in relevant tax industry working group meetings as necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial service / tax product-based roles in complex, enterprise environments.
- Preferably qualification as a tax advisor or tax lawyer. CPA a Plus.
- Execution capabilities, operational and/or product management.
- Superior business acumen and analytical skills.
- Experience of contributing to the tax product development lifecycle, from concept and client need through to execution and benefit realization.
- Experienced in working with business and technology architecture. Able to explain strategic concepts to audiences.
- Comfortable with corporate governance and reporting.
- Able to collaborate and communicate with all levels.
- Preferred: Domain knowledge of mutual and alternative fund administration as well as custody/securities processing or related capabilities.
