About the role
- Provide practical legal advice on ideation, development and execution of new digital asset products
- Partner with Risk, Compliance and other Legal colleagues to define and advise on future-state digital asset services and initiatives
- Draft and negotiate technology-related agreements with clients and partners
- Monitor and update stakeholders on industry, legal, and regulatory changes related to digital assets
- Track and report legal issues and project developments to stakeholders at multiple levels
- Participate in industry associations related to digital assets and emerging technologies
- Advise on internal and external materials including marketing materials, regulatory submissions and press releases
Requirements
- J.D. from a top-tier law school
- 8+ years’ experience as a licensed attorney with at least 2 years’ experience in digital assets
- Both in-house and law firm experience preferred
- Experience advising financial institutions on legal and regulatory environment related to digital assets (US focus; MiCA or other foreign frameworks preferred)
- Understanding of financial services, banking, and payments systems
- Working knowledge of blockchain technology
- Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them forward collaboratively
- Strong written and oral communication; experience presenting to senior stakeholders
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset; curious, engaged, articulate, and collaborative
