About the role
- Work with senior executives, key stakeholders and colleagues in sales and relationship management across BNY to drive the sales and commercial strategy for Buy-Side Trading Solutions.
- Manage the sales process from pipeline creation to structuring complex deals and client onboarding, performing necessary analysis and developing relevant sales artefacts (pricing, contract terms, RFP responses, agreements, etc.)
- Act as a subject matter expert in outsourced trading and transition management to collaboratively design solutions that meet the needs of prospects and clients
- Create organic growth through coordinated outreach to existing clients of the firm, and targeted engagement with new client prospects, with a focus on the asset management industry.
- Independently develop leads and initiate contact with prospects leveraging the firm’s resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.), and ensure deals are compliant with regulations and risk management requirements.
- Identify and commercialize cross-selling opportunities with related BNY offerings.
- Provide ongoing commercial updates to senior management through tracking and reporting of key business development metrics, trends, opportunities, areas of concerns, etc.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a sales or strategy role at a buy-side or sell-side institution.
- In-depth knowledge of US and global capital markets, financial instruments, market structure, and regulatory landscape, with a focus on buy-side market participants (asset managers, asset owners, etc.).
- Experience in working with Product and Trading teams to define, design, and implement commercial solutions for multi-asset trading and / or portfolio transitions.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including ability to articulate complex issues and incorporate feedback.
- Continuously educate and upskill, leveraging internal and external resources including but not limited to seminars, conferences, training, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and identify new process and technology solutions, especially through usage of AI.
- Collaborative, team-oriented, service-oriented, and with a drive to win business while mitigating risk.
- Strong track record of building client relations with complex institutions and an ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced lean environment.
- FINRA Series 7 required.
