About the role

  • Develop a roadmap for consolidating and simplifying existing applications, promoting standardization and eliminating unnecessary technologies and technical debt.
  • Define the Archer target state architecture (North Star) focusing on application rationalization, resiliency, security, evergreen, CI/CD, data strategy and TCO.
  • Lead the definition and high-level design of an architectural solution for Archer; develop proofs-of-concept and explore alternatives to assist pods in making architectural decisions.
  • Provide guidance to technology teams and business partners on architectural options and technology choices considering cost, risk, and time to delivery.
  • Design and implement scalable architecture for the Archer Platform, reduce complexity and improve operational efficiency; design target state to move to BNY Azure tenant and retire duplicate functionality.
  • Integrate the Archer Platform with other BNY platforms (Wealth Management, Middle Office, Foundational Services) to reduce redundancy and extend offerings.
  • Focus on using AI to accelerate development and reduce TCO while enabling new feature development.
  • Reduce Archer UDTs and design solutions leveraging BNY services and capabilities.
  • Leverage BNY Engineering platforms to promote standardization and efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic pillars: "Running our Company Better" through simplification and efficiency, and "Being More for our Clients" by enhancing client offerings and integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of experience in technology and architecture roles (minimum 10 years preferred).
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry a plus.
  • Strong enterprise architecture skills: application rationalization, resiliency, security, evergreen practices, CI/CD, data strategy, and TCO analysis.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable platform architectures and integrations (Archer platform experience preferred).
  • Experience with Azure tenant migration and cloud architecture.
  • Ability to lead high-level design, develop proofs-of-concept, evaluate alternatives, and support planning and budgeting.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and guidance skills to help technology teams and business partners make architectural decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven development approaches, engineering platforms, and operational efficiency improvements.
