About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and ownership of end-to-end AI and data architectures — from data acquisition to model deployment and monitoring
Build scalable platform architectures that serve multiple feature teams within the Android ecosystem
Technical leadership for Android Automotive and its ecosystem
Define and evolve clear interfaces between AI platforms, Android infotainment, and application development
Translate new AI requirements into production-ready platform capabilities
Continuously drive the AI strategy for infotainment platforms and track key technology trends

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master's or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, with practical experience in AI and data architectures beyond prototyping
Deep knowledge of Android (AOSP / Android Automotive) as a production platform, including its constraints and evolution
Strong experience in on-device and off-device AI architecture, and implementing small language models, vision-language models, or models for autonomous driving
Familiarity with orchestrating multi-agent systems, multi-turn dialogues, and related open standards (e.g., A2A, MCP)
Experience with AI training toolchains and workflows, including pruning, fine-tuning, and multimodal encoding
Proficiency in Rust, C++, Kotlin, and modern API-driven system architectures
Proven technical leadership experience in agile, cross-functional teams
