About the role
- Assist the Non-Metals TX-56 group interview customers for analysis needs.
- Perform sample preparation for future analysis.
- Conduct analysis using lab equipment.
- Document results, including recommendation based on conversation with the customer.
- Research, evaluate, and document equipment capabilities, limitations, and costs.
- Create “best practice” guidelines for sample preparation, maintenance topics, and analysis results based on current lab equipment.
- Merging measurement analysis with non-destructive equipment results (X-Ray and CT Scan).
- Providing long-term business case strategy for future replacement financial planning.
- ADM (Laboratory report documenting system).
- PQM (Problem Solving Quality Management system).
Requirements
- Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or similar degree.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must be enrolled at a university outside of the United States.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on the US grading scale.
- Must have completed a prior BMW internship of at least 3 months in length.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- Must provide the following paperwork in English: Curriculum Vitae/Resume, Last University Performance Record, Cover letter (not required), Relevant references and certificates (not required).
