About the role

  • You will support the Control Elements Design team in developing innovative control solutions for production and concept vehicles.
  • You will contribute to the conception and design of physical control elements for future BMW interiors.
  • Furthermore, you will assist in developing holistic control and interaction concepts for the vehicle interior.
  • You will help create design drafts, sketches, renderings, and 3D data for innovative solutions.
  • You will participate in analyzing user requirements, trends, and competitive landscapes to inform design decisions.
  • Additionally, you will support the preparation of presentations for internal decision-making bodies.
  • You will work closely with engineering, HMI development, and ergonomics teams throughout the process.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Proficient with common design tools such as Alias, Blender, Rhino, KeyShot, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of form, function, materiality, and haptics in design applications.
  • Interest in Human-Machine Interface (HMI), user experience (UX), and innovative control concepts.
  • Analytical mindset with a structured and proactive approach to tasks.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Good German and English language skills.
