About the role
- Support achievement of module and group targets for quality and timing
- Complete moderately complex tasks in a production and product engineering environment
- Work semi-independently under guidance of module leaders
- Support analysis of problems, development, validation and implementation of solutions
- Collect necessary data to confirm solution effectiveness
- Supports engineering tasks, quality assurance, design engineering, analysis and validation
- Assist in ongoing workflows
- Supports design and release of components within the modules through 3-D model analyses, prototype development and production, and testing and validation on fixtures
- Reports to Section Manager Plant Spartanburg and to the relevant Module Leader
- Develops a network to the Center of Competence and to plant process partners
- Supports development of solutions to highly complex or (un)usual technical problems
- Prepare presentations on solutions and present data and results in Module or management rounds
- Understands and implements VPS Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving
- Adheres to 6S and Safety Standards and Principles
Requirements
- Major: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Fluent English language skills (oral and written)
- Conversational German language skills preferred
- 1+ years problem-solving and communication experience.
- 1+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in multiple product areas, preferred.
- 1+ years knowledge of automotive technology/-ies preferred.
- 1+ years effective presentation to teams on technical and project issues experience.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
