About the role

  • Support achievement of module and group targets for quality and timing
  • Complete moderately complex tasks in a production and product engineering environment
  • Work semi-independently under guidance of module leaders
  • Support analysis of problems, development, validation and implementation of solutions
  • Collect necessary data to confirm solution effectiveness
  • Supports engineering tasks, quality assurance, design engineering, analysis and validation
  • Assist in ongoing workflows
  • Supports design and release of components within the modules through 3-D model analyses, prototype development and production, and testing and validation on fixtures
  • Reports to Section Manager Plant Spartanburg and to the relevant Module Leader
  • Develops a network to the Center of Competence and to plant process partners
  • Supports development of solutions to highly complex or (un)usual technical problems
  • Prepare presentations on solutions and present data and results in Module or management rounds
  • Understands and implements VPS Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving
  • Adheres to 6S and Safety Standards and Principles

Requirements

  • Major: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Fluent English language skills (oral and written)
  • Conversational German language skills preferred
  • 1+ years problem-solving and communication experience.
  • 1+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in multiple product areas, preferred.
  • 1+ years knowledge of automotive technology/-ies preferred.
  • 1+ years effective presentation to teams on technical and project issues experience.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
