About the role
- Manages Equipment Spare Part purchasing process for the MRO group
- Ensures quotes, purchase orders, and materials are processed to meet production targets
- Manages relationships with all suppliers to ensure they are aware of our targets and understand our procurement process
- Serves as the MRO group's direct liaison with internal Procurement group
- Meets regularly with procurement contact to develop purchasing process strategies and supplier management
- Secures quotes for all needed inventory items
- Reviews MRP daily requirements to determine correct reorder levels and quantities
- Manages all open RFQ's and open purchase orders to ensure there is no downtime impact to production
- Interacts will all Maintenance departments to review current and future inventory ordering requirements
- Provides daily task requirements to outsource personnel assisting in purchasing process
- Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving
- Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- BA/BS degree (Logistics related field preferred)
- OR AA/AS degree (Logistics related field preferred) AND 2 years of professional related experience in inventory management
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week)
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university
- Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript
- Compete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term
