About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Combat and Systems engineering advice and support to internal and external clients according to task demands
- Train, direct, and support team members allocated to engineering taskings
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies
- Contribute technical specialist expertise and practical knowledge to internal discussions, R&D projects, and billable tasks
- Mentor, train, and guide junior engineers and technologists
- Maintain knowledge of naval systems design rules and their implications for ship and submarine design
- Conduct technical assurance and review activities to ensure deliverables meet client requirements
- Apply Combat Systems engineering principles, regulations, and standards
- Lead engineering assessments, feasibility studies, and technical investigations
- Support projects involving combat and military systems, cybersecurity, naval systems, and platforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Combat and Systems Engineering
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Eligible for a Canadian security clearance
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (desirable)
- Detailed knowledge and experience in the operation of naval systems (desirable)
- Experience in in-service support of naval systems and/or engineering design (desirable)
- Experience developing and using technical studies and drawings (desirable)
- Understanding of specifications for government and commercial vessels (desirable)
- Experience in systems integration, ship construction and/or repair (desirable)
