About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide Combat and Systems engineering advice and support to internal and external clients according to task demands
Train, direct, and support team members allocated to engineering taskings
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies
Contribute technical specialist expertise and practical knowledge to internal discussions, R&D projects, and billable tasks
Mentor, train, and guide junior engineers and technologists
Maintain knowledge of naval systems design rules and their implications for ship and submarine design
Conduct technical assurance and review activities to ensure deliverables meet client requirements
Apply Combat Systems engineering principles, regulations, and standards
Lead engineering assessments, feasibility studies, and technical investigations
Support projects involving combat and military systems, cybersecurity, naval systems, and platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in Combat and Systems Engineering
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Eligible for a Canadian security clearance
Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (desirable)
Detailed knowledge and experience in the operation of naval systems (desirable)
Experience in in-service support of naval systems and/or engineering design (desirable)
Experience developing and using technical studies and drawings (desirable)
Understanding of specifications for government and commercial vessels (desirable)
Experience in systems integration, ship construction and/or repair (desirable)
