About the role
- Develops, analyzes, and implements statistical models for computerized financial trading strategies and quantitative finance techniques
- Applies automation and novel approaches to create profitable trading solutions
- Codes strategies for algorithmic traders and converts them into algorithms
- Provides solutions to complex trading problems through deep quantitative analysis and mathematical computations
- Builds large-scale distributed computing programs to generate analytics and present results in user-friendly visualizations
- Codes, innovates and improves proprietary models and algorithms
- Designs and delivers solutions with high reliability, resiliency and scalability
- Completes data preparation, data testing and modeling tasks in accordance with policies, standards and accepted modeling practices
- Performs as a specialist in all areas of the software life cycle and operates as a hands-on technologist
- Supports the design, development, and maintenance of a high performance automated trading platform and supporting infrastructure
- Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Applies expertise and implements changes in response to shifting trends
- May be assigned broader work or accountabilities as needed
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional core Java development experience
- Strong JUnit testing skills
- Strong multi-threaded programming skills
- Strong understanding of financial markets and electronic trading systems
- Experience with optimizing software performance and reducing latency
- Experience developing, analyzing, and implementing statistical models for computerized financial trading strategies
- Experience with automation and applying it to trading strategies
- Expertise coding strategies for algorithmic traders and converting them into algorithms
- Deep quantitative analysis and mathematics computations
- Experience building large-scale distributed computing programs and data visualization
- Experience coding, innovating and improving proprietary models and algorithms
- Experience designing and delivering solutions with high reliability, resiliency and scalability
- Experience in data preparation, data testing and modeling tasks following standards and practices
- Specialist experience across software life cycle and hands-on technologist responsibilities
- Experience supporting design, development, and maintenance of high performance automated trading platforms and infrastructure
- Ability to operate at group/enterprise-wide level and serve as specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders
