About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and lead data training for all profiles that interact with data: Data Stewards/Data Owners, Data Engineers, Data Consumers, Developers (transactional systems), and act as a champion for a data-driven culture;
Monitor and improve data management processes including metadata and catalog management, data quality, access management (for data and dashboards), and master data management;
Create/update procedures, standards, data governance policies and related processes;
Establish processes and oversee the monitoring of implemented data governance initiatives;
Lead the definition and optimization of data governance processes aligned with technical teams, ensuring clear communication and value delivery to client business areas;
Participate in team agile ceremonies (SAFe/Scrum/Kanban), use Jira to clarify and refine work, and identify risks and impediments clearly and in a timely manner;
Documentation culture: clearly document all processes, requirements and projects developed by the data governance team;
Coordinate with technical, business and strategic teams;
Help promote workshops and training to advance Banco Bmg's data maturity.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience promoting a data-driven culture and advancing data maturity in organizations through training and workshops;
Hands-on experience in Data Governance processes such as metadata management and publishing, data quality, data stewardship, and MDM;
Experience with data catalog tools and general data management tools;
General knowledge of data ingestion processes;
Strong experience in areas involving data governance, data analysis, data handling, or providing data to client business areas;
Communication, influencing and problem-solving skills;
Sense of prioritization and analytical ability;
Ability to manage complex tasks autonomously, meeting deadlines and agreements;
Execution-oriented profile with high autonomy in task execution, ownership mindset and strategic vision;
Demonstrate strong commitment to company and team goals/OKRs;
Preferred: Experience in data migration projects to the cloud (AWS experience is a plus) and project management;
Nice to have: Intermediate SQL skills, capable of extracting, transforming and analyzing data, and knowledge of Power BI.
