About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leads the design, development and/or refinement of house officer programs, monitor effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversees the execution of house officer programs, including residencies and internships ensuring they are appropriately leveraged to achieve talent pipeline needs.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to assess house officer training and development needs as well as to gauge the effectiveness of established programs.
  • Develops the strategic plan and sets direction of residency programs and internships (rotating/specialty).
  • Functions as part of a high-performing clinical development team to execute upon program objectives.
  • Monitors KPIs to ensure strong ROI and alignment with practice strategy.
  • Oversees relationships with external industry partners including universities.
  • Serves as advocate for clinical engagement and culture of learning across the practice.
  • Delivers program training content in person or virtually and is available for consultation as needed.
  • Develops and implements key performance metrics for functional area and ensure regular reporting of results to stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • One-year rotating internship and board-certified specialist required.
  • 8+ years of job-related experience in a leadership role within the veterinary industry required.
  • Must have prior role with focus on clinical talent development.
  • Experience in an academic environment preferred.
