About the role

Design and develop high-quality Laravel applications for client projects.
Work on a variety of projects across Bluelight's client base to deliver impactful solutions.
Optimize MySQL performance and tune complex queries for scalable applications.
Implement and maintain RESTful APIs focusing on performance and data efficiency.
Use Eloquent ORM and Query Builder effectively while optimizing generated SQL.
Apply testing tools (Pest, PHPUnit) to ensure code quality and system reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry professionals on modern technologies.
Take ownership of deliverables, meet estimates, and maintain strong client-focused execution.

4+ years of experience with Laravel, specifically with Laravel 8 and above, demonstrating a deep understanding of the framework's architecture and capabilities.
Expertise in MySQL database performance optimization, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex database bottlenecks.
Strong hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries, including EXPLAIN plans and indexing strategies.
Proficiency with database schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies for scalable, high-volume transactions.
Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder and understanding of how these tools generate SQL.
Experience working in complex large-scale multitenant SaaS applications.
Solid experience with Laravel Authentication and implementing robust security practices.
Experience with testing tools such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit.
Proficiency in designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel.
Experience with ReactJS is a plus.
Ability to take extreme ownership over your work and meet estimates and process expectations.
Ability to identify with Bluelight's clients' goals and deliver on commitments.
