About the role
- - Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, with a primary focus on Azure technologies.
- - Deliver data-lake-based integration and analysis services in support of business intelligence, data science, and machine learning efforts.
- - Spearhead the implementation of infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, pushing the boundaries of automation and efficiency
- - Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- - Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues
- - Implement robust security measures to safeguard cloud-based applications and data
- - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications
- - Lead architecture discussions with clients and team members, articulating complex solutions with clarity and confidence
- - Contribute to business development activities by crafting innovative cloud engineering solutions for proposals
- - Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices
Requirements
- - Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts
- - Extensive knowledge of Azure technologies
- - Adherence to general cloud engineering best practices.
- - Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for process automation
- - Experience with DevOps practices and tools, especially CI/CD processes
- - Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure
- - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- - Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- - 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related fields
- - **US Citizen:** Must be a citizen of the United States
- - **Security Clearance:** Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- **Desired**
- - Software engineering experience, especially in web application development
- - Strong background in cloud-based networking, security, and data integration
- - Knowledge of serverless computing
- - Background in healthcare data management or experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
- - Experience with large-scale data analysis systems, such as Databricks, Hadoop, Pig, Scala, Spark or MPP databases
- - Experience working with Apache Parquet and/or Delta Lake formatted data
- - Experience supporting MLOps pipelines
