About the role

  • - Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, with a primary focus on Azure technologies.
  • - Deliver data-lake-based integration and analysis services in support of business intelligence, data science, and machine learning efforts.
  • - Spearhead the implementation of infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, pushing the boundaries of automation and efficiency
  • - Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
  • - Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues
  • - Implement robust security measures to safeguard cloud-based applications and data
  • - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications
  • - Lead architecture discussions with clients and team members, articulating complex solutions with clarity and confidence
  • - Contribute to business development activities by crafting innovative cloud engineering solutions for proposals
  • - Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices

Requirements

  • - Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts
  • - Extensive knowledge of Azure technologies
  • - Adherence to general cloud engineering best practices.
  • - Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for process automation
  • - Experience with DevOps practices and tools, especially CI/CD processes
  • - Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure
  • - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • - Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • - 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related fields
  • - **US Citizen:** Must be a citizen of the United States
  • - **Security Clearance:** Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • **Desired**
  • - Software engineering experience, especially in web application development
  • - Strong background in cloud-based networking, security, and data integration
  • - Knowledge of serverless computing
  • - Background in healthcare data management or experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • - Experience with large-scale data analysis systems, such as Databricks, Hadoop, Pig, Scala, Spark or MPP databases
  • - Experience working with Apache Parquet and/or Delta Lake formatted data
  • - Experience supporting MLOps pipelines
