About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Generating CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware and tube assemblies for flight and ground testing
- Releasing Model Based Definition (MBD) of fluid assemblies, assembly drawings, and perform drawing checks
- Leading design configuration management of the fluid and propulsion system ensuring a consistent baseline and successful integration with the vehicle
- Coordinating with vehicle teams on interfaces and joint design solutions
- Leading design for manufacturability efforts for fluid component assemblies
- Performing basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
- 8+ years of experience designing tubes, fluid components, engine assemblies, and test rigs
- Experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for fluid assemblies with significant experience with tube routing
- Experience designing welded tube assemblies for aerospace systems and familiarity with aerospace fluid system design standards
- Experience with large assemblies
- Experience performing structural hand calculations and analysis with tools such as ANSYS
- Experience interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Expertise in ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
