About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performing detailed hand calcs and FEA of aerospace structures and pressurized systems for new designs, design improvements, and for non-conforming hardware
- Effectively and constructively collaborate with team members from various fields and backgrounds, providing inputs for design development activities and trade studies
- Authoring structural analysis reports to support release of engineering drawings and documents
- Supporting test plan development to verify requirements and generate material and structural data necessary to establish confidence in design solutions
- Create and update analysis tools to improve efficiency and/or accuracy of analysis
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in structural analysis using commercial FEA tools and hand-calcs
- Experience with structural analysis of pressurized components, secondary/ancillary hardware, fluid lines/ducts, and/or similar high-performance hardware.
- Solid understanding of structural analysis/mechanics and fatigue.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications.
- Ability to communicate analysis results effectively.
- Ability to work in teams.
- Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks simultaneously.
- B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Propulsion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
