About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Produce and manage software engineers within Lunar Permanence
Work with various subsystem stakeholders
Ensure mission success of the lunar vehicles’ safety-critical flight software
Engage with leads and engineers from different subsystems
Guide the software team’s technical decisions
Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to developers
Collaborate with NASA and National Team Partners
Develop the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aeronautics, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree or a PhD degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
5+ years of experience working in spaceflight or other safety-critical industries
5+ years of experience in embedded systems software engineering
Proficiency in Jama or a similar requirements management tool
Experience with Jira or a similar activity management tool
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
