About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the design and development of avionics hardware subsystems that meet Blue Origin's needs for a variety of liquid propulsion rocket engines
- Contribute to requirements development and decomposition
- Support technical trade studies
- Participate in risk management
- Support integration, verification, and qualification of avionics hardware through environmental testing and flight certification
- Work with the Engines Design Office and cross-functional teams to apply technical standards and processes
- Mentor less-experienced team members in avionics systems engineering
- Share lessons learned across Blue Engines programs to continuously improve avionics and engine control hardware development
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in avionics hardware, including systems engineering, electrical design and analysis, or verification/qualification/validation
- Experience in systems engineering in aerospace or defense, including requirements development (decomposition and allocation), verification and validation, and integration and test
- Understanding of electronics hardware design processes including schematic review, component selection, derating analysis, and thermal/mechanical packaging
- Experience with DO-254 hardware development assurance or equivalent hardware certification processes
- Experience with DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 environmental qualification testing
- Familiarity with harness/cable design, connector selection, and EMI/EMC considerations
- Familiarity with ARP4754 development assurance processes
