About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Architect, develop, and maintain River, an Electron-based command and control application (TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js)
Design and own data pipelines for storage, manipulation, and real-time send/receive of high-rate data
Lead driver-level integration with PLC and packaged control surfaces (Modbus and other industrial protocols)
Establish software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices across the codebase
Drive code quality through reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD
Partner with controls, avionics, and test engineers to define interfaces and translate requirements into robust software
Troubleshoot complex issues across the software/hardware boundary in development and test environments
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmap and cross-program lessons learned

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or a related STEM field
5+ years of relevant software development experience
Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js
Experience building and shipping production applications, including data storage and real-time communication
Demonstrated experience with software architecture, design patterns, and testing/CI practices
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
