About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage in the entire design cycle of pumps including conceptual design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural layout and analysis, integration, test and mission support
  • Collaborate with many internal stakeholders to define requirements, dependencies, and schedule needs associated with delivering pumps
  • Lead team-based identification, decomposition, and estimation of work scope for full lifecycle pump hardware development
  • Manage project schedule, resources, and cost – present status of effort, including risks, variances and recovery plans to program management
  • Work to continuously improve the team processes and manage team assignments to move quickly while meeting human space flight standards
  • Perform procurement, integration support, and discrepancy resolution
  • Oversee component and subsystem level testing including test planning, test execution, data reduction, and analysis
  • Create and modify drawings, specifications, and other documentation
  • Support procurement activities to support vehicle build schedules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 3+ years of industry experience in detail design / development of aerospace or equivalent-type fluid systems and project management
  • Strong knowledge of pumps
  • Knowledge of fabrication, integration processes and quality control relative to pumps and machined components
  • Working knowledge of materials and treatments
  • Experience leading at least 1 multi-person development project, managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, cost, and communications
  • Experience and ability to work independently on rapid development programs
