About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop robust plans of product deliveries and lead tracking of key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk
- Identify and define problem statements and have enough experience to build a realistic project schedule
- Work with technical leads to define program scope to create program plans
- Work with program management toward long-range objectives without appreciable direction and resolve technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions
- Provides regular status updates and works to resolve project discrepancies (schedule, budget, resources, etc.)
- Engage with developers on significant issues sufficiently to be able to report to senior leadership
- In partnership with Responsible Engineers (RE) and Team Leads own the technical success of product development
- Help run contracts and produce statements of work
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of project management experience related to software development
- Experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field
- Desired: Experience with NPR 7150.2D, DO-254, and safety critical applications
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
- Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management and Cost Account Management such as EVM
- Familiar with agile project management
- Experience with Jira
- Experience automating schedule health evaluations and continuously improving schedules
- Experience with verification, integration, and test, of orbital launch vehicles or human rated spacecraft
