About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded flight software in C/C++ for spacecraft avionics
  • Translate system and software requirements into robust, flight-quality code in partnership with systems, avionics, GN&C, and test engineers
  • Build and run unit, integration, and automated regression tests across Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments
  • Debug and resolve software and hardware/software integration issues in lab and test settings
  • Participate in design, code, and peer reviews to uphold quality and coding standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and infrastructure
  • Investigate software anomalies and contribute to root cause analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 2+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming in resource-constrained embedded environments
  • Working knowledge of real-time operating systems
  • Familiarity with software verification, testing, and debugging techniques for embedded systems
  • Experience developing flight software for spacecraft, satellites, or other safety-critical aerospace or robotics systems (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems such as Linux, VxWorks, or FreeRTOS (preferred)
  • Experience with Python for scripting or test automation (preferred)
  • Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP) (preferred)
