About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded flight software in C/C++ for spacecraft avionics
Translate system and software requirements into robust, flight-quality code in partnership with systems, avionics, GN&C, and test engineers
Build and run unit, integration, and automated regression tests across Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments
Debug and resolve software and hardware/software integration issues in lab and test settings
Participate in design, code, and peer reviews to uphold quality and coding standards
Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and infrastructure
Investigate software anomalies and contribute to root cause analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
2+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
Proficiency in C/C++ programming in resource-constrained embedded environments
Working knowledge of real-time operating systems
Familiarity with software verification, testing, and debugging techniques for embedded systems
Experience developing flight software for spacecraft, satellites, or other safety-critical aerospace or robotics systems (preferred)
Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems such as Linux, VxWorks, or FreeRTOS (preferred)
Experience with Python for scripting or test automation (preferred)
Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP) (preferred)
