About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define & Own Requirements – Lead component requirement definition for lunar-specific environments, negotiate critical interfaces, and evaluate both in-house and vendor solutions through rigorous first-order analysis
  • Drive Design Reviews – Present detailed component designs to cross-functional teams, defend technical decisions, and collaborate across lunar vehicle systems
  • Specify & Procure – Partner with suppliers to source optimal materials and components optimized for lunar transporter missions
  • Execute the Full Cycle – From design refinement through build, test, and delivery—watch your components launch toward the Moon
  • Document Excellence – Generate engineering drawings, P&IDs, and verification packages that meet lunar mission standards
  • Lead Problem Solving – Conduct structural and fluid analyses using industry-leading tools (ANSYS, Thermal Desktop, Creo/ProEngineer) in the lunar thermal and vacuum environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years designing aerospace propulsion and cryogenic fluid systems, including piping architecture
  • Deep expertise in cryogenic components (valves, regulators, pumps) and system design
  • Proficiency in structural and fluid FEA (ANSYS), thermal analysis, and Creo/ProEngineer
  • Expertise creating and interpreting P&IDs and fabrication drawings
