About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the integrated systems point of contact and subject matter expert for a Lunar operation
  • Define and own the mission plan, concept of operations, and design reference mission(s)
  • Define vehicle requirements and external interfaces
  • Identify, handle, and mitigate risks
  • Define and lead execution of the verification and validation plan
  • Identify and track key performance metrics
  • Define and carry out a technical review plan
  • Facilitate design reviews and meetings within Blue and with NASA customer
  • Organize engineering support to provide an integrated solution at the mission level
  • Leadership of the mission timeline and activity development for the phase

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area
  • Firm grasp of the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering
  • Knowledge of space vehicles, reentry vehicles, propulsion systems, and spacecraft systems development
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace systems development, with 5+ of those years in aerospace hardware development or complex integrated operations
  • M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area
  • Experience with software tools such as Jama, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, Confluence, JIRA, Git, Creo, and Windchill.
