About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the design of new infrastructure and buildings under the supervision of a licensed engineer
  • Assist in the production of design and construction documents, including mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design alignment with project goals and objectives
  • Conduct research and provide support for mechanical design solutions and concepts
  • Prepare and review mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with project standards
  • Support the coordination of project schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Stay informed of industry trends, technologies, and advancements to contribute to project innovation
  • Prepare for and pursue a Professional Engineering license after gaining the required experience
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on best practices and design principles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices
  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced engineering technologies (preferred)
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices (preferred)
  • Previous internship or work experience in a mechanical engineering firm (preferred)
