About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and decompose component and lower-level functional and performance requirements
Coordinate with Integration & Test personnel on the development and execution of requirements verification and validation
Coordinate with safety engineers to evaluate hardware criticality and inform design assurance and certification needs for various hardware items
Develop and maintain hardware budgets and key technical performance measures
Utilize Systems Engineering, PLM, and collaboration tools such as JAMA, JIRA, Confluence, Windchill, Creo, and SharePoint
Perform configuration management of systems engineering artifacts, including leading peer reviews and audits of engineering documentation
Support trade studies and supply knowledge to help guide design implementation
Facilitate and lead key milestone reviews across the full lifecycle of hardware development
Identify and fix gaps in existing process, tools, infrastructure, and continually improve solutions along the way

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics
Applied knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices such as requirements development, validation, and verification
2+ years of proven industry experience in the development of electronic hardware
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and supply to a culture of collaboration

M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area (desired)
4+ years of space systems engineering or fungible experience in other highly complex industry areas (desired)
Experience in design, analysis, test, operation, and/or certification of aerospace safety critical systems (desired)
Experience with software tools such as JAMA, MATLAB/Simulink, Confluence, JIRA, Git, Creo, and Windchill (desired)
Experience with end-to-end product development, from concept definition to hardware integration (desired)
Experience with complex electronic hardware and software certification in accordance with DO-254, DO-178, and/or similar design assurance standards (desired)
Strong system safety and mission assurance fundamentals (desired)
