About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own structural analysis from requirements definition through qualification
- Develop, maintain, execute, and validate finite element models (FEM)
- Perform structural assessments for environments including quasi-static and inertial loads
- Create and review stress reports and certification artifacts
- Partner with manufacturing and test to define test requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to improving team standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering, or related field (M.S. preferred)
- 8+ years of professional experience performing structural/stress analysis for spacecraft, aircraft, or similarly rigorous hardware
- Strong proficiency with FEM development and structural analysis methods
- Experience with one or more of the following analysis software: Patran/Nastran, Ansys, Femap, Abaqus, Hyperworks, LS-Dyna
- Experience creating and modifying geometry in CAD programs (preferably Creo)
- Experience producing clear technical documentation and presenting results at design reviews
