About the role
- Design, develop, and deploy digital employee experiences across HR technology platforms including Cornerstone, LMS tools, and Workday, ensuring seamless end-to-end user journeys
- Architect and build custom integrations between HR enterprise systems (Workday, Cornerstone, LMS) and internal/external applications using RESTful APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, and message queues
- Leverage AI technologies and tools (e.g., LLMs, recommendation engines, intelligent automation) to enhance HR software capabilities, improve employee self-service, and drive innovation in people technology
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR business partners, data analysts, and ET stakeholders to translate people-operations requirements into actionable software solutions
- Identify feature gaps between enterprise HR systems and develop remediation plans, building custom solutions that meet end users where they are
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and deployment of enterprise-scale HR systems and services that are highly available, scalable, and maintainable
- Produce quality technical documentation for defining integrations between enterprise-level HR applications
- Adopt software DevOps technologies and CI/CD best practices to solve software automation and deployment challenges
- Design and implement automations that reduce manual HR operational toil, streamline workflows, and improve system reliability across the HR technology stack
- Apply SRE principles — including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management — and collaborate with SRE teams to ensure HR systems meet reliability and availability standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional team members who are passionate about improving the employee experience at Blue Origin, fostering growth across both technical and non-technical disciplines
- Stay current with emerging HR technology trends, AI/ML advancements, and digital experience methodologies, proposing improvements and innovations to optimize system performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 7+ years of proven experience writing software and deploying it to production environments
- Hands-on experience with at least one HR technology platform such as Workday, Cornerstone OnDemand, or similar LMS/HCM systems
- Strong proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience developing APIs and building applications on them in a production environment
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes (K8s) and Amazon EKS
- Demonstrated understanding of deploying web interfaces using React, Angular, or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog for application performance management, logging, and infrastructure monitoring
- Experience solving complex problems by leveraging AI tools and integrating AI-powered solutions into software development workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex systems to a varying user base.
