About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform analysis on primary and secondary tank structures using classic hand calculations and FEM simulations
Create analysis documentation that is concise and accurate
Perform peer reviews of analysis and reports generated by other team members
Provide structural analysis guidance to design engineers and junior structural analysts
Support production issues, ongoing testing, and mission operations
Apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to ensure safe human spaceflight

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
5+ years of structural analysis experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures or automotive
Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis of metallic and/or composite structures
Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, etc.)
Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications to achieve optimal structures
Experience with at least two of the following analysis codes: Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO
Demonstrated experience using scripting languages (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.)
