About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct fluids analysis to define the performance and operations for various spaceflight systems
  • Define hardware requirements and resolve technical challenges
  • Take ownership or support analysis tasks of a complex fluid system by conducting 1D-3D fluids analysis
  • Contribute to product life cycle process from early conceptual design through completion of the flight mission
  • Responsible for documentation and maintenance of analysis inputs, models, and presenting results to stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience is required
  • Strong understanding of thermal and fluid mechanics with relevant experience preferably in aerospace industry
  • Experience with one or more fluid or thermal modeling tools is required (e.g., Flow3D, CFD++, ANSYS Fluent, SINDA/FLUINT, Thermal Desktop, MATLAB/Simulink or other commercial codes)
  • Experience with modeling propulsion/cryogenic fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change,...) (preferred qualification)
  • Experience with Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT (preferred qualification)
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (preferred qualification)
  • Knowledge of other tools including MATLAB, Simulink, Amesim (preferred qualification)
  • Active/passive Thermal/Pressure Control System/component design (preferred qualification)
