About the role
- Work on a design team through frequent hardware design cycles
- Drive solutions forward and advise the team on problem resolutions
- Take ownership of the full lifecycle of hardware
- Design, analyze, develop, and test primary and secondary structures
- Build detail part 3D models, assemblies, and interface control documents
- Support configuration development and trade studies
- Coach, mentor, and technically assist other engineers
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 2+ years of experience with spacecraft, launch vehicle, or aircraft structures
- Experience on recently developed spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft vehicles in areas like vehicle load path distribution, integrating separation systems, and material selection
- Experience working in a multi-functional organization to develop designs
- Understanding of core DFX principles influencing structural development
- Understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentals
- Experience with full Model Based Definition (MBD)
- Familiarity with ASME standards
- Structural design experience using CAD (Creo/Windchill preferred) and FEA (ANSYS preferred) tools
