About the role
- Perform analysis on primary and secondary tank structures using classic hand calculations as well as Finite Element Model (FEM) simulations
- Create analysis documentation that is concise and accurate
- Perform peer reviews of analysis and reports generated by other team members
- Provide structural analysis guidance to design engineers and junior structural analysts
- Support production issues, ongoing testing and mission operations
Requirements
- B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 5+ years of structural analysis experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures or automotive
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis of metallic and/or composite structures
- Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, etc.)
- Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications to achieve optimal structures
- Experience with at least two of the following analysis codes: Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO
- Demonstrated experience using scripting languages (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.)
