Events

• Research, plan, and execute donor and investor stewardship events, including small-group dinners, salons, and multi-day field visits—in close partnership with the fundraising team
• Lead event design and atmosphere-setting, ensuring each experience reflects Blue Forest’s mission, impact, and intended relationship outcomes, and is tailored to participant backgrounds, interests, and philanthropic or investment priorities
• Develop event strategies, agendas, collateral, talking points, and run-of-show documents that align messaging, content, and flow with attendee composition and event objectives
• Coordinate all event logistics, including venues, catering, vendors, transportation, RSVPs, accommodations, and speaker engagement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for event speakers and external participants
• Manage attendee communications before, during, and after events, and coordinate closely with the fundraising team to support stewardship and next-step follow-up
• Prepare briefing materials for Blue Forest leadership and Board members, outlining key attendees, objectives, and desired outcomes for relationship-building and stewardship
• Direct Blue Forest’s presence at major convenings (e.g., SF Climate Week, NY Climate Week, COP, SOCAP, Red Sky Summit)
• Identify priority audiences and stakeholders for each convening and develop engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Secure and coordinate speaking roles, workshops, roundtables, and panels that position Blue Forest effectively with target audiences
• Lead speaker coordination, talking point and presentation development, and day-of management
• Prepare leadership with briefing materials on key attendees, partners, and prospective funders, including context for relationship-building and follow-up
• Collaborate with the Communications team on event promotion and external engagement
• Manage event logistics, including vendor contracts, catering, photography, and on-site coordination
• Support agenda development and team-building design for company retreats
• Manage all travel, accommodation, and onsite logistics
• Standardize event and travel processes across Blue Forest in partnership with the Accounting and Operations teams
• Establish a company-wide event and conference calendar
• Develop templates and systems for attendee research, briefing notes, run-of-show documents, and post-event follow-up
• Establish budget templates for each type of event and post-event expense reporting processes in conjunction with accounting.

Events Coordinator

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Perform detailed financial analysis of investment opportunities, including building and populating accurate and dynamic financial models in Microsoft Excel
• Screen potential investments and write concise analytical memos and present findings to internal audiences, primarily the Investment Committee
• Plan and lead investment due diligence, including market research, reviewing third-party consultant reports, legal document review, and financial due diligence broadly
• Coordinate Blue Forest’s impact strategy for its investments, including impact quantification efforts
• Coordinate ongoing payment flows, such as loan drawdowns, interest payments, etc. (including with third-party service providers as relevant)
• Monitor covenants and other operational elements of deals
• Build and maintain financial models as inputs into the Blue Forest portfolio management function
• Contribute to investor reports and other Blue Forest collateral
• Explore new private markets investment products and opportunities via market research, landscape analysis, and stakeholder engagement
• Conduct fund financial modeling, prepare materials such as pitch decks and data rooms, and support investor relations for new fund development and capital raising processes
• Continuously improve BFAM Investment team policies, procedures, and playbooks
• Execute key portions of business processes, including budgeting, fund portfolio management, and ongoing investment management
• Create and maintain systems, trackers, and processes for the Investment team

Investment Associate

Human Resources

• Serve as the organization’s primary point of contact for human resources programs, processes, and systems.
• Execute HR generalist responsibilities including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee relations (approx. 80% of role).
• Support operations and IT functions including systems administration, account setup, license management, technology inventory, procurement, and logistics (approx. 20% of role).
• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, draft job descriptions, source candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage onboarding logistics.
• Support performance management processes, prepare documentation, collect feedback, and provide initial coaching to managers.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and issues; escalate complex matters to Director.
• Administer benefits enrollments, maintain accurate employee records, and assist with audits and compliance reporting.
• Maintain and update HRIS and employee records; generate basic HR reports and dashboards.
• Assist in drafting, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures; research best practices.
• Provide informal guidance/mentorship to junior staff or interns and coordinate training and development programs.
• Support team retreats, meetings, internal systems management, and data security compliance.

Human Resources Manager

Data Scientist

• Design and deploy custom databases to meet project and partner needs for storing, curating, and analyzing data
• Conduct reviews of procedures for acquiring and managing data to identify areas for improvement
• Check in with staff leading metrics tracking to streamline processes and identify challenges and solutions
• Compile and manage consistent data flows from multiple platforms and data types to support project development, management, and reporting
• Improve data workflows and processing tasks by implementing data quality control procedures to ensure FRB impact reporting accuracy, completeness, and credibility
• Develop and maintain metadata to ensure discoverability and usability of knowledge
• Collaborate with science and project development staff and external partners to identify data needs and requirements
• Educate staff in basic data management, including technical support and training (1-on-1 and group sessions)
• Provide technical training expertise on data onboarding and management using video tutorials, strategy documentation, and good practices
• Connect science and project development, working closely with relationship managers and implementation partners to strengthen technical partnerships
• Leverage data platforms such as Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS Online, and other interactive reporting tools, to communicate expected outcomes of FRB projects
• Work closely with FRB tracking and impact reporting teams to integrate partner data and systems
• Report to Director of Conservation Science; collaborate across departments in a fast-paced, cross-departmental environment
• Travel up to 15% and participate in an annual in-person team retreat

Data Science Manager

Account Manager

• Oversee portfolio of launched Forest Resilience Bonds (FRBs) and other ecosystem restoration conservation finance projects where active restoration is ongoing and finance is being deployed
• Provide technical assistance and engagement with local partners, implementation partners, land managers, Tribes, beneficiary payors, and community leaders
• Drive strategic initiatives and innovation to improve the impact of conservation finance based on learnings from launched projects
• Internal portfolio management and strategy development and deployment for launched projects including data management, impact management, communication, and coordination with the finance team
• Help launched projects succeed during implementation phase and scale up in size
• Identify lessons learned and strategic questions across portfolio and partner with other Directors to develop strategies and innovations to scale FRBs
• Lead strategy and oversight of launched projects; long-term partnership development; serve as project advisor across multiple (3-4) implementation/scaling projects
• Support implementation partners and project teams to problem-solve implementation challenges (e.g., biomass and wood products, equipment finance)
• Manage portfolio of FRB projects in implementation and scaling phase; coordinate Blue Forest staff involvement
• Enhance and maintain internal and external tools to support implementation partners and the Blue Forest team
• Lead internal and cross-department communication around the portfolio of projects
• Partner with communications team for project communications and storytelling; support annual impact report and quality control on impact metric data collection
