Human Resources

• Serve as the organization’s primary point of contact for human resources programs, processes, and systems.
• Execute HR generalist responsibilities including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee relations (approx. 80% of role).
• Support operations and IT functions including systems administration, account setup, license management, technology inventory, procurement, and logistics (approx. 20% of role).
• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, draft job descriptions, source candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage onboarding logistics.
• Support performance management processes, prepare documentation, collect feedback, and provide initial coaching to managers.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and issues; escalate complex matters to Director.
• Administer benefits enrollments, maintain accurate employee records, and assist with audits and compliance reporting.
• Maintain and update HRIS and employee records; generate basic HR reports and dashboards.
• Assist in drafting, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures; research best practices.
• Provide informal guidance/mentorship to junior staff or interns and coordinate training and development programs.
• Support team retreats, meetings, internal systems management, and data security compliance.

Human Resources Manager

Data Scientist

• Design and deploy custom databases to meet project and partner needs for storing, curating, and analyzing data
• Conduct reviews of procedures for acquiring and managing data to identify areas for improvement
• Check in with staff leading metrics tracking to streamline processes and identify challenges and solutions
• Compile and manage consistent data flows from multiple platforms and data types to support project development, management, and reporting
• Improve data workflows and processing tasks by implementing data quality control procedures to ensure FRB impact reporting accuracy, completeness, and credibility
• Develop and maintain metadata to ensure discoverability and usability of knowledge
• Collaborate with science and project development staff and external partners to identify data needs and requirements
• Educate staff in basic data management, including technical support and training (1-on-1 and group sessions)
• Provide technical training expertise on data onboarding and management using video tutorials, strategy documentation, and good practices
• Connect science and project development, working closely with relationship managers and implementation partners to strengthen technical partnerships
• Leverage data platforms such as Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS Online, and other interactive reporting tools, to communicate expected outcomes of FRB projects
• Work closely with FRB tracking and impact reporting teams to integrate partner data and systems
• Report to Director of Conservation Science; collaborate across departments in a fast-paced, cross-departmental environment
• Travel up to 15% and participate in an annual in-person team retreat

Data Science Manager

Account Manager

• Location: Remote, Western US preferred
• Reports to: Managing Director of Project Development
• Salary: $130k to $155k depending on experience
• Travel: 25-30%

• Employment Status: Full-time, non-exempt
• Oversee portfolio of launched Forest Resilience Bonds (FRBs) and other ecosystem restoration conservation finance projects where active restoration is ongoing and finance is being deployed
• Provide technical assistance and engagement with local partners, implementation partners, land managers, Tribes, beneficiary payors, and community leaders
• Drive strategic initiatives and innovation to improve the impact of conservation finance based on learnings from launched projects
• Internal portfolio management and strategy development and deployment for launched projects including data management, impact management, communication, and coordination with the finance team
• Help launched projects succeed during implementation phase and scale up in size
• Identify lessons learned and strategic questions across portfolio and partner with other Directors to develop strategies and innovations to scale FRBs
• Lead strategy and oversight of launched projects; long-term partnership development; serve as project advisor across multiple (3-4) implementation/scaling projects
• Support implementation partners and project teams to problem-solve implementation challenges (e.g., biomass and wood products, equipment finance)
• Manage portfolio of FRB projects in implementation and scaling phase; coordinate Blue Forest staff involvement
• Enhance and maintain internal and external tools to support implementation partners and the Blue Forest team
• Lead internal and cross-department communication around the portfolio of projects
• Partner with communications team for project communications and storytelling; support annual impact report and quality control on impact metric data collection
• Represent Blue Forest at conferences and panels
