About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage a multi-skilled team of backend, frontend, and firmware engineers
- Set clear team and individual objectives, and provide ongoing performance feedback and development
- Build and empower a team to deliver creative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems
- Collaborate closely with other Engineering leads to bring continuous improvements and take our Engineering organisation to a new level
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards
- Ensure that the code produced is aligned with the best practices and standards in the industry (such as following SOLID principles and containing a healthy level of test coverage)
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other EMs to align our engineering efforts with business goals
- Focus on the professional and personal growth of your team, including conducting performance and compensation reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as an engineering manager or similar leadership role in a technology-driven environment
- First hand experience as a software engineer
- Have experience building team & hiring new team members
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and spoken in English), and interpersonal skills
- Expertise with the best principles, practices, and standards in the industry, such as: SOLID, TDD, design patterns, refactoring, etc
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior management and product teams
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning
- Experience in leading teams working on large-scale products
- Experience in products combining both hardware and software (preferred)
- Experience in growing Scale-ups, from being an early Engineer to 100+ people team (preferred)
- Experience in B2B enterprise products (preferred)
