About the role
- Project manage and deliver Blood Cancer UK’s owned events and products portfolio including planning, marketing, delivery and evaluation.
- Develop innovative new products and support growth of income and supporter engagement across the UK.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working with agencies to deliver successful campaigns.
- Monitor and manage team income and expenditure budgets; highlight variances to the Mass Participation Lead.
- Regularly review processes, recommend change, adapt activity, and implement mitigation plans as needed.
- Oversee process development to ensure all supporters receive an outstanding supporter journey which recruits, converts, retains, and develops participants; test and learn with new technologies (e.g. WhatsApp messaging and leveraging AI).
- Share best practice around product development and innovation across the organisation to upskill other individuals and teams.
- Champion and implement ED&I and sustainability initiatives across all mass participation events.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and changes within mass participation events and the wider fundraising sector.
- Supervise staff and/or volunteers to ensure appropriate training and high performance.
- Travel to meet internal and external stakeholders, attend monthly and quarterly team days in the London office, and travel nationally to away days and fundraising events.
Requirements
- Experience in mass participation events and project management of third-party and owned mass participation events
- Strong project and budget management skills; understanding of budget management
- Knowledge of planning and monitoring digital marketing campaigns and effective marketing for events
- Experience of managing and improving supporter journeys to maximize income, and retention
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
- Experience managing relationships with agencies and external suppliers; ability to manage and influence external partners
- Confident using data and insight to improve performance and make decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers
- Passionate about building excellent supporter journeys and using data to drive decisions
- Willingness to travel nationally and attend monthly and quarterly team days in the London office
