Assist in designing and implementing player abilities, creature abilities, and environmental FX in the Diablo VFX style (dark, visceral, and grounded in gothic fantasy).
Create textures, meshes, and simple simulations for use in visual effects.
Collaborate with senior artists and designers to bring gameplay moments to life.
Participate in team reviews and incorporate feedback to improve your work.
Help maintain VFX assets and documentation.
Requirements
5 + years of experience creating visual effects in game development or related fields (including professional roles, academic projects, or publicly released work).
Strong understanding of animation principles such as motion, anticipation, dynamics, and follow-through.
Familiarity with real-time asset creation workflows and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Maya, Photoshop).
Experience applying VFX to support gameplay clarity, impact, and player feedback.
Bonus Points: Experience with Houdini, including rigid/soft body simulations.
