• Manage a dynamic, constantly evolving portfolio of proposals and other strategic capture initiatives.
• Assess opportunity viability and lead bid/no-bid recommendations based on fit, resources, and win probability.
• Lead competitive analysis and price-to-win strategy.
• Cross functional lead in developing comprehensive capture plans, competitive assessments and price-to-win strategies and proposals that position BlackSky as the partner of choice for complex intelligence, defense, and commercial programs.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Product, and Engineering teams to shape opportunities and solutions responsive to customer missions.
• Lead highly visible priority pursuits activities across all phases of our business acquisition process opportunities >$200M.
• Responsible for the development of a winning offer and solution (e.g., technical, management, past performance, cost/price).
• Cross-functional partner on developing an overall solution strategy and approach, aligning customer’s objectives and requirements to generate value propositions and approaches to solve customer challenges.
• Create, continuously refine, and lead execution of a capture process that aligns cross functional teams and ensures consistent, efficient, and high-quality pursuit execution.
• Manage team of direct reports who oversee different aspects of the capture process, while partnering closely with other cross-functional teams (solutions, product, sales, legal, finance).
• Oversee the design of sales operations processes and systems to enable transparent and scalable operations across the sales lifecycle.
• Articulate all aspects of the win strategy, solution and business case including risk and mitigation plans during reviews with senior leadership.
• Manage the proposal team and process, using best practices in proposal management (e.g. Shipley).

Senior Director – Capture Operations

Sales

• Define and execute a unified global sales strategy to achieve or exceed revenue and profitability targets across international defense and intelligence markets.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing international sales and business development organization that delivers measurable, sustained growth.
• Oversee pursuit and capture of complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities across defense and intelligence customers.
• Demonstrate a consistent record of closing major international contracts ($10M+) through disciplined, long-cycle capture management.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Program Management teams to align evolving customer requirements with BlackSky’s capabilities.
• Drive penetration strategies in priority markets and cultivate executive-level relationships with defense and intelligence organizations, commercial partners, and system integrators.
• Establish accurate forecasting and reporting mechanisms that provide data-driven insights into international pipeline performance.
• Implement standardized global sales processes, metrics, and accountability frameworks to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
• Represent BlackSky at key global industry events, strengthening the company’s visibility and thought leadership in the defense, ISR and geospatial sectors.
• Monitor competitive activity, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to guide strategic planning and positioning.

Senior Vice President, International Sales

Manager

• Craft, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions
• Evaluate business and cost risks and identify and implement contractual levers to manage risks the life of the contract.
• Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts for our manufacturing team.
• Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress within established contract management systems.
• Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
• Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal according to what’s best for the company.
• Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
• Support project team in evaluation of contractor proposals as contract subject matter expert.
• Establish ground rules for contract negotiation with project team and counterparty.
• Monitor contract performance in coordination with supply chain team, and recommend modifications as needed.
• Lead prioritization of key contract terms for negotiation according to unique project characteristics and collaborate with internal subject matter experts, including legal, finance, operations/supply chain and other to ensure a comprehensive review and approval of terms.
• Serve as key resource for accurately conveying commercial contract terms and negotiation points to various cross functional teams.

Senior Contracts Manager

Full-stack Engineer

• Design, implement, and maintain software that enables autonomous satellite operations and real-time tasking
• Develop and integrate services that interface with ground station infrastructure and satellite communication protocols
• Build cloud-native microservices to support satellite tasking and monitoring
• Collaborate with operations, communication engineers, flight software engineers, mission planning engineers, and other software teams to understand and refine technical requirements
• Write clean, maintainable code with strong emphasis on safety, test coverage, and reliability
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and team planning discussions
• Support on-call rotations and troubleshooting of live system operations as needed
• Support Launch and Early Operations of new satellites
• 10-15% travel required

Staff Software Engineer, Ground and Control Services

• BlackSky is a real-time intelligence company providing satellite imagery, automated analytics and high-frequency monitoring.
• Independently design and implement new features for core imagery ordering, processing, and delivery orchestration services.
• Take an active role in testing, debugging, and documenting implemented software functionality.
• Participate in design sessions and provide feedback to identify issues early.
• Analyze and provide input on designs for scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Assist with operational tasks to ensure stability in production environments.
• Proactively identify problems with requirements and communicate issues early.
• Migrate existing services to Kubernetes.
