About the role
- Contribute to technical analyses related to solid waste management, including selected aspects of hazardous waste management.
- Support the preparation of technical concepts, assessments, and recommendations under the guidance of senior consultants.
- Research and apply relevant waste management regulations, standards, and best practices at national, regional, and international levels.
- Assist in adapting technical solutions to local regulatory, institutional, and operational contexts.
- Support the planning and implementation of consultancy projects, including tracking tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops, and, where applicable, on-site activities such as facility visits, assessments, and stakeholder workshops, depending on project needs.
- Draft high-quality technical reports, presentations, and deliverables in line with client requirements and international standards.
- Support data collection, analysis, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across project outputs.
- Follow established internal processes for project delivery, quality assurance, and documentation.
- Stay informed about emerging waste management technologies, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, with a focus on waste management, environmental engineering, or similar disciplines.
- >3 years of relevant professional experience in solid waste management or related environmental consultancy fields.
- Initial experience with hazardous waste management is an asset, but not mandatory.
- Experience supporting consultancy projects, studies, or technical assessments is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Additional languages (e.g., German, Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese) are an asset and may be relevant depending on the project region.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with data analysis, technical reporting, and basic project coordination and management tools (e.g., awork) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic project environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work on-site at client locations when required by the project.
