About the role

  • provide technical leadership for OHTL (including EHV 345kV–765kV) by maintaining standards, ensuring compliance, and serving as SME for complex projects
  • champion a culture of innovation by supporting emerging trends, advancing tools and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that turn concepts into impactful solutions
  • support project execution with risk mitigation and constructability insights
  • develop talent via training and mentorship
  • apply knowledge and ensure compliance with B&V quality program
  • establish related processes and promote a culture conducive to quality
  • support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management efforts
  • lead preparation of complex engineering deliverables, including advanced research, calculations, data management, and innovative technical solutions across multiple or large-scale projects
  • manage project budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and coordinate extensively with internal and external teams
  • identify key client interests and ensure they are communicated and integrated into project execution
  • provide leadership through performance management, career development, workforce planning, and mentoring

Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program or equivalent experience in Engineering work
  • minimum of 11 years related work experience
  • strong experience in 69kV to 500kV overhead transmission line design
  • working knowledge and/or expertise in Power Line system based programs (i.e., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.) preferred
  • advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
  • previous client interaction experience with solid relationship-building abilities in pursuit of business opportunities
  • experience with the design of utility-scale electrical transmission systems
  • structural design of transmission steel structures and their foundations
  • basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software
