About the role
- Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods
- Expand knowledge and skill set in area of discipline
- Start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas
- Develop knowledge and provide guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies
- Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines
- Independently apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks
- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects
- Perform complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements
- Actively coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects
- Actively mentor lower level professionals
Requirements
- Valid PE license
- Experience with the design of utility-scale electrical substations
- Structural design of electrical substation steel structures and their foundations
- Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software such as RISA 3D or STAAD Pro
- Basic foundation design experience using analysis and design software such as L-Pile and RISA Foundation, SP-Mats, and SP-Col
- Solid experience using EXCEL or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
