About the role
- Lead major projects or programs from planning through construction.
- Present updates to external client stakeholders and support decision-making.
- Provide oversight of the program schedule and budget using Black & Veatch’s internal processes and manage large inter-discipline teams of internal and subconsultant resources.
- Lead a Team that provides technical solutions and differentiation focused on water supply/treatment/distribution, wastewater collection/treatment, biosolids management, recycled water, water quality regulations and utility infrastructure systems.
- Provide recommendations on client’s processes, organization, and readiness to embark on major programs and alternative project delivery.
- Support the team’s use of risk-based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs.
- Provide project execution, quality control, and technical leadership to support large water and wastewater projects and programs and to identify innovative solutions to maximize benefits to municipalities and utilities.
- Lead and provide technical expertise to support marketing and business development.
- Support pursuit, proposal, and project interview activities.
- Work closely with Client Directors and the Area Director to and develop relationships with clients and decision makers in Texas.
- Help mentor professionals and grow the Team by identifying high quality candidate and recruits.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- 20+ years of relevant water engineering experience including but not limited to water and wastewater infrastructure planning, asset management, CIP optimization, detailed design, and construction
- Experience managing large water and wastewater programs and projects
- Knowledge of water and wastewater conveyance and treatment regulations
- Proficient with technical and thought leadership surrounding water and wastewater infrastructure systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
- Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
