About the role
- Participate in and lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities.
- Focus on design and construction activities, including project delivery methods such as traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for HyperScale and Colocation Data Center design associated with administrative and support spaces.
- Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.
- Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
- Conduct energy audit/efficiency studies, code review/application, and sustainable design/LEED application of sustainable strategies.
- Develop engineering skills while working on challenging projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Basic knowledge of Data Center/Mission Critical Design
- Experience with construction support
- Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and collation data centers.
- Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
- Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
- Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations
- Computer generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
- HVAC system energy modeling and energy code
- Green building initiatives such as LEED
- Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
- International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
- NFPA Standards
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
