About the role

  • Participate in and lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities.
  • Focus on design and construction activities, including project delivery methods such as traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems for HyperScale and Colocation Data Center design associated with administrative and support spaces.
  • Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.
  • Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
  • Conduct energy audit/efficiency studies, code review/application, and sustainable design/LEED application of sustainable strategies.
  • Develop engineering skills while working on challenging projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Data Center/Mission Critical Design
  • Experience with construction support
  • Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and collation data centers.
  • Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
  • Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
  • Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations
  • Computer generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
  • HVAC system energy modeling and energy code
  • Green building initiatives such as LEED
  • Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
  • International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
  • NFPA Standards
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
