About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities for materials critical to semiconductor manufacturing.
- Ensure continuity of supply, optimize total cost of ownership, and maintain quality compliance while adapting to evolving technology requirements and market conditions.
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for semiconductor materials, including wafers, photoresists, CMP slurries, specialty gases, chemicals, and other critical materials.
- Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers while ensuring alignment with technology roadmaps, quality standards, and production requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms to achieve cost targets while securing reliable supply.
- Monitor semiconductor material markets, supplier performance, pricing trends, and supply chain risks to identify opportunities and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to align material requirements with technology and production needs.
- Support new product introductions by sourcing materials that meet emerging process requirements and scalability targets.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through supplier development, data analysis, and total cost of ownership improvements.
- Manage procurement performance, supplier relationships, and reporting activities to support business objectives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, physics, materials science, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within semiconductors, electronics, or advanced manufacturing.
- Proven experience negotiating contracts, managing suppliers, and driving cost optimization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor materials and processes, including wafers, specialty gases, chemicals, photoresists, lithography, etching, and metallization materials.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using ERP/procurement systems and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with fluent English; German language skills are considered an advantage.
