AMHS Technician
Black SemiconductorAMHS Technician responsible for maintaining Automated Material Handling Systems in semiconductor manufacturing environment. Ensuring reliable operation through preventive and corrective maintenance protocols.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) equipment, including Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT) vehicles, Under-Track Storage (UTS) systems, conveyors, and substrate and film frame sorting systems
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues affecting material transport and wafer handling operations to ensure reliable system performance and minimal downtime
- Monitor system performance, respond promptly to alarms, and restore equipment functionality in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions and maintain operational efficiency
- Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and upgrade activities for AMHS and sorter equipment in collaboration with vendors and engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and optimal performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with fab safety requirements and operational standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed Ausbildung, diploma, or degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 1-5 years of experience in automation maintenance within a manufacturing or semiconductor environment; recent graduates are welcome
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions accurately, with disciplined documentation practices.
- Proactive mindset to identify recurring issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to work in confined spaces (less than 4 feet clearance) and at heights of up to 4 meters on AMHS highway levels for equipment recovery activities
- Understandings of semiconductor cleanroom protocols and EHS standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; proficiency in German is a strong plus.
